Hair Description:
My hair is a golden, honey blonde. The texture is straight, the coarseness is medium, and the thickness is medium (about 3.5-3.0 inches thick—see pictures). I get compliments for how long, thick, and healthy my hair looks. I love my hair! I love its luster. I love how smooth it feels. I love how strong and reliable it is. I love how it shimmers when it catches the light. Nevertheless, I’m in the mood for a shorter style.

Hair Care:
We are a non-smoking home. I subscribe to a whole-food, non-toxic lifestyle, and that goes for my hair too! My hair is virgin hair. I have never dyed or chemically treated my hair. I never use heat to style my hair (curling irons, flat irons, etc.)
My hair-care routine is a combination of traditional and natural methods. I wash my hair 1-2 times per weeks using a 1-part bentonite clay and 3-parts water rinse, followed by a 1-part apple cider vinegar and 3-parts water rinse. Sometimes I add essential oils to my rinse. This two-step clay and vinegar program cleanses, remineralizes and strengthens my hair while maintaining a healthy ph balance. I pat-dry and then air-dry my hair. During the week, I detangle my hair using a Wet brand paddle brush, and I use a boar bristle brush to distribute my hair’s natural oil from the top to the bottom of the shaft. Every 1-2 months, I treat my hair using an Ayurvedic oil blend or a traditional egg wash. I rarely wear my hair down, preferring protective styles like braids and buns. I get my hair trimmed 1-2 times per year. I currently have a U-shaped cut with a few long layers about 1-inch from the bottom. My 18-20” sell number is from the top of the U up to my neck. The extra hair contained in the U-shape is free.
