100% virgin, never chemically processed. Natural highlights and lowlights. SUPER SOFT.
Straight, but it will hold a loose wave, especially if it’s humid or dries in a bun.
The hair itself is not super thick, but there is a lot of it. Shortest strands are 15″, longest are 18″. Freshly trimmed last week.
Hair care: Rare/no heat styling. Blow-dried once or twice in the past 5 years. Use a straightener on some of the front pieces once every other month.
Wash 2-3 times/week with sulfate-free shampoos. Leave a deep conditioner in for 5-10 minutes every time. I towel dry my hair with a fluffy microfiber towel and put in a homemade leave-in conditioner: organic shea butter, organic argan oil, rosehip oil, coconut oil.
I wrap my hair into a bun on the top of my head, fixed with a spiral hairpin every night. I sleep on a silk pillowcase.
Every few weeks I’ll make a homemade hair mask of eggs, bananas, avocados, coconut oil, castor oil, and honey – leave it in for about an hour. Sometimes I’ll sleep with my hair saturated in coconut oil which I wash out in the morning.
I usually just untwist my bun for very slightly wavy hair in the morning, sometimes applying jojoba oil to the ends. Otherwise, I will keep it in a bun, which doesn’t stress it like ponytails do.
Vegetarian and gluten-free diet. I eat a lot of lentils, eggs, and nuts for protein (at least 5 servings a day), and take doterra daily nutrient pack supplements twice a day (including omega complex essential oils). I eat a lot of dark greens, raw vegetables, and fruits, and usually stay away from processed foods and sugars.
I work out 2-3 times per week.
No smoking. No drugs. Very rare drinking, and never heavy.
I’m cutting it all off as close to the root as I can, so I intend to separate it into 8-10 sections.
