40 in virgin interlocked male dreadlocks

New to this. Additional pics available on request. I have been growing my dreads since 2007. There is a hint of gray. I have my maintenance performed every 6 weeks. I occasionally will braid my hair to wear it curling, but for the most part it is in a ponytail or a high bun. Between maintenance I wash my hair once a week using Cantù moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I do not smoke nor do I drink or engage in any other drug activities. I am a runner which is why I am sure to wash my hair weekly. There is starting to be some breakage given the weight of my so it is with great hesitation that I make this post.
